You Really Don't...

Description

Please! Before anyone says ANYTHING, this is NOT a direct attack on ANYONE. This stamp was made out of the general observation that a lot of people do this. If you're offended, well, I'm sorry. It's just an opinion based off of things I've seen. I'm not forcing anyone to change anything. If you like what you do or are doing, then keep doing it.

Lately I've noticed a lot of people are pairing off every character they have in a story. While it's their entitlement as the story creator (fanbase or not material wise), I just think people don't see that this can also HARM their stories. I just get tired of seeing it some days.

Mostly I see people creating a character one way with zero mention of a love interest, developing them pretty well only to introduce a love interest and ruin the character. I get love is a very popular and common topic, but honestly? Not everyone in the world would pair off. There's more types of people than that. You don't HAVE to have a love interest and yet people make it seem like a requirement. Have you considered that? That some people don't want a relationship and never will?

On that topic, not everyone is going to have a "happily ever after". I know people like that, but by now that's a cliche. In reality that's not always the case. It's hard to maintain a good relationship like that in reality. I have not known many relationships to work out to "Happily Ever After" status. :/ It's fine if you do this with a couple or two in a story, but when you do it to them ALL then it's just boring and your story basically becomes a giant orgy instead of whatever it was originally meant to be. And this whole "Tragic love" thing that ends with a "happily ever after" needs to stop as far as I'm concerned. x__X That has to be the one thing I hate most. A tragedy that happens between two that makes them resent each other or forces them to be apart will likely not lead to them reuniting.

Also, if you have a buttload of pairings in a story, don't go with the love at first sight + good relationship forever on. Be more creative, please.
